OP Choir Update - October 2018
Good morning Oak Prairie Students and Parents!
I hope you are enjoyed your weekend and are staying warm! I have the following updates for you:
Spring Concert Date Change: Change the dates in your calendar!!! LTHS informed me that they had to move the date of our concert from May 16th to May 14th. If this poses any issues, please inform me as soon as possible.
EDIT: The upcoming concert is the Winter Concert on December 11th. The call time is at 6pm and the concert starts at 7pm.
Oak Prairie Music Department Polos:
Please send in $25 for your music performance polo! The form for these have been completed through the OP Choir Registration from the beginning of the year, so sizes have been collected and the shirts are ready for distribution. Once the money has been received, your student will receive the polo shirt. This money is due Tuesday, October 23rd. If this poses any issues, please inform me as soon as possible.
EDIT: please make checks out to Oak Prairie, District 92, D92...whichever works!
Concert Outfit: Music Department Polo, black dress pants, black shoes. No gym shoes or jeans.
End of the Quarter:
This applies to all of their classes at school! I have updated grades and will continue to this week - please remind your students to be on top of their classwork assignments via Google Classroom for choir. I have reminded the students several times in the past few weeks to check Google Classroom for any missing work.
Great American Opportunities Fundraising:
Thank you to the students and parents who participated and raised money for the choir program! All of your order forms have been submitted and I promise the cookie dough will come in before Thanksgiving Break this year. I will announce an official pickup date when the fundraising company has the orders fulfilled and contact me with that information.
7 students had sold more than 25 items and won 2 free tickets to the Chicago Bulls game and earned the Chicago Bulls experience! I have posted an attachment on Google Classroom tagging these specific students. Please be sure to submit this order form before October 22nd. If you have issues accessing the attachment, please let me know—I can also print a copy and send it home with these students.
Charlie & the Chocolate Factory
The trip to Navy Pier and seeing the musical Charlie & the Chocolate Factory will be this Thursday, October 18th for the select students who are are attending. All 50 seats have been taken at this point. We will be departing Oak Prairie at 3pm. Make sure your students are dressed properly for the occasion; dress nicely and be prepared for the weather. This means no jeans, sweats, or yoga pants - no leggings unless worn with a dress.
Extracurricular Events October 15th-October 19th
Tuesday: Hi-C Rehearsal 2:30-3:30pm
Wednesday: Drama Club 2:30-4:00pm - still open for anyone to join!
Thursday: NO BBC this week due to the Charlie & the Chocolate Factory Trip - we will definitely have rehearsal next week, October 25th!
